Oregano oil is known as an herbal medicine derived from the oregano herb that can cure many human ailments. It is well known in the medical world and is now used by many to heal respiratory problems, to kill bacteria and other micro organisms that cause problems in the human body. This herbal oil is also used to strengthen the immune system and to increase musculoskeletal processes and flexibility. However good this herbal oil can be for the human body, excess intake can also cause complications in the body. Oregano oil side effects can occur, like blood thinning. It is known that this herb can thin the blood, which is why iron intake is necessary when taking oregano oil as medication.

Oregano oil side effects happen when the intake of oregano oil is done without a health expert’s prescription. Pregnant mothers should stay away from oregano oil since it can thin the lining of the uterus that might cause miscarriages. Oregano oil can cure allergies but it can also be the cause of allergies. Some people might have allergic reactions to thyme or mint or even basil, which is an indication that there is a possibility that your may be allergic to oregano as well. This is one reaction that oregano oil may have on the human body.

Oregano oil side effects may also cause irritation in the gastrointestinal tract. Too much intake of oregano oil may affect the digestive processes. This is however rare but then again, it is better to be safe and sure. Other than these side effects, oregano oil may also have interactions with other medications that are taken by a person. Thus, it is advisable to see a doctor before taking oregano oil and any other medications to see whether these are compatible and would not cause any side effects. Make sure to take only moderate amounts of oregano oil.
